15 Rich Countries That Control 84% of the World's Wealth

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- When it comes to global wealth, there are a handful of "haves" butamost countries are "have nots." Just 15 countries control 84.3% of all the wealth in the world, according to a new report from Credit Suissea . Led by the United States (31.7% of the world's wealth), Japan (8.8%) and China (8.1%), these 15 economic powerhouses havea$221.6 trillion between them. Many of these countries are also among the largest in the world by population. In total, 3.7 billion people live in the world's richest countries, more than half the world's population.
