NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- TCP Capitala has been downgraded by TheStreet Ratings from Buy to Hold with a ratings score of C. aTheStreet Ratings Team has this to say about their recommendation: "We rate TCP CAPITAL CORP (TCPC) a HOLD. The primary factors that have impacted our rating are mixed - some indicating strength, some showing weaknesses, with little evidence to justify the expectation of either a positive or negative performance for this stock relative to most other stocks. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, compelling growth in net income and expanding profit margins. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including weak operating cash flow and feeble growth in the company's earnings per share." Highlights from the analysis by TheStreet Ratings Team goes as follows: TCPC's very impressive revenue growth greatly exceeded the industry average of 2.6%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues leaped by 69.9%. This growth in revenue does not appear to have trickled down to the company's bottom line, displayed by a decline in earnings per share. The net income growth from the same quarter one year ago has significantly exceeded that of the S&P 500 and the Capital Markets industry. The net income increased by 26.9% when compared to the same quarter one year prior, rising from $9.77 million to $12.40 million. Compared to where it was 12 months ago, the stock is up, but it has so far lagged the appreciation in the S&P 500. Despite the fact that it has already risen in the past year, there is currently no conclusive evidence that warrants the purchase or sale of this stock. TCP CAPITAL CORP's earnings per share declined by 17.5% in the most recent quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. This company has reported somewhat volatile earnings recently. We feel it is likely to report a decline in earnings in the coming year. During the past fiscal year, TCP CAPITAL CORP increased its bottom line by earning $1.94 versus $1.20 in the prior year. For the next year, the market is expecting a contraction of 20.6% in earnings ($1.54 versus $1.94). Net operating cash flow has significantly decreased to -$74.15 million or 4755.59% when compared to the same quarter last year. In addition, when comparing to the industry average, the firm's growth rate is much lower.
