Trina Solar (TSL) Stock Is Up Today on New Supply Agreement

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Trina Solar were gaining 3.7% to $12.28 Monday after the solar module maker announced a new supply agreement with Tokyo Engineering. Under the new supply agreement Trina Solar will supply 116 MW worth of high efficiency modules to the largest solar power project in Japan. The solar modules will be used in a 231 MW facility that will be built in Setouchi City, Okayama. The facility will use about 446,000 pieces of Trina Solar TSM-260PC05A high efficiency modules, according to the company. "This sizeable module order in support of the largest solar power project in Japan marks another milestone for Trina Solar in this market," Trina Solar COO and President of Module Business Zhiguo Zhu said. "Our modules were selected on the basis of very stringent criteria, once again highlighting Trina Solar's well established and reputable brand for high quality products, superior warranty and power output performance guarantee."
